Living Room Refresh Plans

We are in the midst of a little overhaul of our living room, so I thought I’d let you into my brain and show you my plan for the space. We spend so much time in our living room – it’s our main living space in our house. I want it to feel warm and welcoming when we have people over to our house, but also comfortable and cozy for all the time that we spend here just as a family.

Sectional // Ottoman // Chair // Rug // Chandelier (And A Similar Option) // Console Table // Storage Baskets on Table // Lamps // Picture Frames // Marble Side Table // Decorative Vase // Decorative Chain // Shagreen Boxes // Faux Fig Tree // Tree Basket // Paint Color

My biggest regret when it comes to furniture for this house is the sectional we bought from West Elm upon moving in. It’s a beautiful piece, but has not held up well at all. We’ve been talking about replacing it for probably a year or so. Once we found out we were having twins, we knew we needed to swap it out for a much more comfortable, durable sectional. We shopped around quite a bit and finally found one we fell in love with. It will have the highest performance fabric and comes with a fantastic warranty, so I feel great about the purchase! We’re supposed to be getting it in the next few weeks, so I will share more when it arrives.

I love for a space to be both beautiful and functional for us. So, adding something like a sofa table that allows for more storage and tabletop space for cups, bottles, etc., will be great! We will need to get a larger rug to accommodate the larger sectional that we’re getting. I love this rug so much in my office that I’m seriously considering just getting the larger size for the living room.

I create these room graphics in Canva – they help so much to see everything together! I’m pretty good at visualizing things, but being able to pull all the elements together in one graphic to see how they flow and interact is a great way to make decisions with what you’re going to buy, especially when shopping mostly online.

I’m sure I’ll be sharing more over on Instagram as it comes together! I can’t wait to see my vision come to life!

Love your vision and seeing it come together! Any recommendations on affordable curtains? Also, do you have a 55″ frame and do you know how wide the mantle or shiplap section is? Trying to envision different sizes. Thanks!
