A few months ago, I wanted to make some sense out of a “dead” corner in our bedroom. There’s a window and the door to the bathroom that meet there, so it was an awkward space for a dresser. We have a large ottoman at the end of our bed, so we didn’t need a chair or place to sit. After considering a few options, I landed on creating a vanity area for me. I purchased a desk and chair form Target and created an auxiliary space for me to get ready and put my makeup on. I wasn’t sure how much I would use it in my day-to-day, but I knew that it would serve more of a purpose than any other option I had. Turns out, I use it every single day! The lighted mirror is great for makeup application, the drawers in the desk serve as additional storage, and the desk can be used for working on my computer at. I love having a functional area that also provided an anchoring effect to that corner of the room.
