How I Decorated Our Kitchen for Fall

I love a good sprinkling of seasonal decor around the house. I’m not (at least, not yet) the type to go all out when it comes to making our home festive, but do love to add in a few elements to signify the changing seasons and what’s to come. Important note: I do quite a bit of decorating for Christmas, but that’s mostly because it’s the most magical time of the year and we only get it for a few weeks!

I like to keep a pretty clutter-free, intentionally decorated space. Most often, I think less is more, especially when it comes to trinkets, decorative accessories, and the like. When I do want to add in some pieces for a specific time of the year, I like to be intentional about the color palette, texture, style, and what exactly I’m adding. If it feels like I’ve added too much or put things out that don’t really flow with the rest of the style of our home, it will feel cluttered and messy and I’ll want to put it all away!

Lucky for me, I was able to find a good amount of neutral, natural, simple decor in stores this year to use! I’m usually a cool-tone kind of girl, but found myself drawn to all the golds, oranges, and warmer tones for decorating this time around.

I kept a lot of the decorative elements I already had, like the top floating shelf, the tray on counter, and more. It made it super easy to just drop in a couple pumpkins and some of the fall faux plants. Most importantly, I added a few fall-scented candles to burn throughout the season! I love fall candles.

And that’s it! Again, not a ton of new pieces and things, but enough to create a welcoming and festive feeling in our kitchen. I’ve added a couple things in other rooms, but focused much of my attention on the kitchen, since that is the first room that you see when you come inside.

Do you decorate seasonally?

    Hi Lauren,

I enjoy following you on instagram. I was wondering what color white your walls and trim paint are? I am getting ready to paint and was wanting to do some whites but there are so many variations to choose from. I wanted to make sure my trim was brighter than the walls. Thank you.
