Transitional Style from Winter to Spring

With Spring on the horizon, it’s just about time for me to flip my closet over from cold weather clothes to warm weather clothes. I keep a lot of things in my closet year round, but bulky sweaters, turtlenecks, and some outerwear will be replaced by dresses, light jackets, and summer-specific items. During this transition time between seasons, I like to start dipping into my warm weather wardrobe, while still utilizing some items to keep me warm. Here are a few things I like to have in my closet:

1. A Denim Jacket

I love a denim jacket in early spring because it means warmer weather is coming! It works well as an extra layer of warmth without feeling too bulky or heavy. Here are two of my favorites:

2. The Aerie Waffle/Fleece Shirt

Another great option for an extra layer for warmth without feeling too bogged down in a typical jacket/coat. I love that these shirts can function as your shirt or as a jacket layer. My favorites are:

3. A Maxi Skirt

I love a maxi skirt for bringing in some print/color to your outfits while still covering your legs if it’s cold! Here’s a few I have my eye on this year:

4. Mules

The perfect option for spring when it’s not quite warm enough for sandals yet. Most of my favorites are from Sam Edelman and Steve Madden like the one’s below:

5. A Long Sleeve Short Dress

It’s the best of both worlds in having your legs exposed, but still some coverage on your arms. Depending on the weather, you could pair with closed booties or an open sandal. Here’s a few I like:
