My Most (& Least) Used Kitchen Items

Most Used Items

1. Always Pan & Perfect Pot from Our Place

If I’m cooking on the stove chances are I’m using one of these! In fact, as I’m writing this post I see they’ve added new mini versions of both as well as a cast iron pan and I’m almost tempted to snag those as well! I have the original Always Pan and Perfect Pot, both in the color “Spice” which is a warm, dusky pink but they come in 12+ colors so there’s plenty of options to choose from. There’s also multiple add-ons you can purchase to use with the pan. I listed some highlights about both items below.

Always Pan

  • Replaces your: fry pan, saute pan, steamer, skillet, saucier, saucepan, nonstick pan, spatula, and spoon rest
  • With the pan you can: braise, sear, steam, strain, saute, fry, boil, serve, and store food
  • Compatible with all cooktops (including induction)
  • Comes with a beechwood spatula, custom steel steamer basket, and matching lid

Perfect Pot

  • Replaces your: stockpot, dutch oven, saucepot, roasting rack, steamer, strainer, braiser, and spoon rest
  • With the pot you can: boil, crisp, bake, braise, roast, steam, strain, pour, serve, and store food
  • Compatible with all cooktops (including induction)
  • Comes with a beechwood spoon, custom roasting rack, and matching lid

2. Air Fryer from Cosori

I had heard lots of praise surrounding air fryers and finally purchased one a little over a year ago. I can see why they’re so talked about! I actually have a whole dedicated post talking about how I use mine that you can read here.

Some highlights of this particular air fryer include:

  • 13 different cooking presets as well as the ability to choose custom settings
  • Detachable basket which makes serving and cleaning easy
  • Large size basket

3. Knife Trio & Stand from Material Kitchen

This knife set is really high quality and the stand makes storing them super easy! I got rid of the stand that came with our old knife set and store those on this one as well. These can be purchased at a discounted price as a set or you can buy the knives or stand separately. I have the knife set in “Cool Neutral” and the stand in “”White Ash”.

The Knife Trio

  • Includes the most popular knives: an 8″ knife, almost 4″ knife, and serrated 6″ knife
  • Designed to last forever

The Stand

  • Metal Base
  • Magnetized on both sides to hold up to 8 knives

4. Meat Thermometer from Yummly

I saw this floating around Instagram last holiday season and was so tempted by it. I waited a few months before finally being convinced to buy it and I’m glad that I did! It makes cooking meat to the perfect temperature easier than ever.

Some product highlights:

  • Wireless Bluetooth connectivity
  • Built in timers and alerts
  • Preset programs for specific meats to make cooking easy

Least Used Items

1. Instant Pot

For me personally I didn’t feel like I used this nearly enough to make up for how bulky it was. I ended up giving mine to a friend. While it certainly has some great uses, if you’re lacking storage space and don’t know for sure that you’ll use it then I’d skip out on this.

2. Dutch Oven

I do use our dutch oven occasionally but mainly just in the fall and winter to make chili since it’s the largest pot I have. While I don’t dislike it, I don’t necessarily feel like I needed the cast iron feature of a dutch oven and could’ve easily opted for a large pot like this instead.

3. Food Processor

This is another kitchen item that I do use but could easily live without. In most of the scenarios when I use this, I could use my blender or mandoline slicer instead and not have to hassle with an additional large appliance. They also make a Kitchenaid attachment that can do many of the same things as well.
