i don’t know what it’s like where you live, but spring has officially sprung in Chicago. we’ve had some 60 degree days already, but more importantly, there isn’t a single shred of snow in the forecast. a-men. i actually don’t mind winter all that much, it adds a little bit of magic to the city, but it’s hard to beat walking out of your apartment in the morning in a light jacket and not being bit by a chill in the air. i’m already noticing that i’m opting for lighter colors and patterns when it comes to picking out my clothes, so it makes sense that my shoe preferences would change, too.
spring shoes just might be my favorite. i like the light color palettes, playful details, and the variety. i love that i can choose between a sneaker and a flat, depending on my outfit and mood. gone are the days of making the decision between snow boots or very cold weather boots. now i have to struggle to pick which one i’m going to wear that day because i want to wear them all.
my spring shoe collection is pretty much complete, so i thought i’d share what i’ll be wearing a lot of this season:
i just picked these up a couple days ago after seeing them everywhere the past few weeks. i’ve worn them only once, but i can tell that they’re going to become a staple for me. i mostly wear flats, so they check off that box, but i love the feminine details of the lacing and the dusty blush color. they feel neutral enough to be worn with anything, but add just enough detail to elevate a look.
i’m obsessed with this style of shoe. it’s the perfect transition heel, if you ask me. you get the look of a bootie (which is a favorite of mine!) but the feel of a sandal with the open-toe and the strap in the back. plus, they make your everyday jeans-and-a-tee look so cool.
i ordered these bad boys a couple weeks ago and have worn them at least 20 times, no lie. they’re the first pair of shoes i reach for in my closet, unless i need something a little less casual. they’re so comfortable and add a little pop of color to my usually neutral outfits.
i’ve always loved the look of this style of shoe but had the hardest time finding a pair that was actually comfortable, but these fit the bill. i did a little stretching (the old sock and blow dryer trick) and i’m really happy with them. with the pointed toe and cut of the shoe, they add a level of sophistication to any outfit.
i love tassel details, so it’s only right that i love these sandals, too. the neutral color allows the embellished detail to stand on its own without feeling too crazy. these would be so fun with a summer dress and jean jacket, or white jeans and a printed top!
i have yet to snag a pair of these for spring, but i think it will be happening. i love metallic details, especially if it’s gold or rose gold. i feel like you can’t go wrong – they can be paired with any outfit and add just enough interest without being overbearing.
this is another style of shoe that i love because they’re casual but fun. i have a pair of those exact ones in black, and a pair of blush snakeskin, both of which i’ve worn a lot of. they’re fun with jeans and sweaters and make me feel a little more put together than lacing up mu joggers.
